Bridge Builder Communities empowers vulnerable young adults aging out of an imperfect foster care system with the critical life skills needed to turn hardships into opportunities and become stable, contributing members of our community.
Young adults still in foster care at the time of their 18th birthday (21st birthday in some states) are “emancipated,” or released shortly after reaching the age of majority. With little or no money to support themselves and often with no family members to turn to, many find themselves without a permanent place to live.

What is Bridge Builder Communities?
Bridge Builder Communities provide housing, education, and vital resources to 18 - 25 year old's who are aging out of the foster care system - providing them a safe and supportive space to transition successfully into adulthood.
Together with Drumgoole Family Initiatives, we are building a Tiny Home Village, a Bridge Builder Community in Augusta, Georgia, that will provide safe affordable housing, educational opportunities, certification completion programs, on-site counseling, job training, and structured support systems to help young adults aging out of the foster care system transition successfully into adulthood.
